Georgetown: Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) and Subsidiaries announced that it made $1.3 Billion in 2012. Turnover increased from $14.6 billion in 2011 to $15.8 billion in 2012, reflecting an 8.2% growth.
Chairman Dr. Yesu Persaud noted in the report that the DDL Group’s performance was primarily determined by the achievements in the international markets.
During the year 2012, DDL reintroduced the popular brand Five-O which received favourable response on the domestic market. The company also successfully launched a new Ivanoff Vodka Cranberry.
International sales contributed significantly to the increase in the company’s revenue. Sale of branded products increased by 23% and for bulk sales by 29% in 2012.
