Berbice. The body of a 14-year-old boy was discovered hanging from a rope at his aunt’s Reliance, East Canje, Berbice home yesterday morning.
Kevin Adrian of Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice hanged himself while on school vacation with his aunt at Reliance. Relatives said they do not know why the teenager would take his own life.
The student of Bush Lot Secondary School was found hanging under a shed attached to the side of the house.
Adrian and his mother recently travelled to the home of her sister, Suraj Seetaram. They were to return home before the new school term.
Relatives said they do not know of any problem the lad had.
“He was all right when we left home over that side,” his grieving mother said. “He was normal all day and did not show any signs, any troubles. He did not complain of anything.”
Relatives said the boy went to bed as normal and nothing suspicious was noticed.
Police are investigating, and are awaiting a post-mortem examination. Three months ago, a close friend of Adrian took his own life.
