Georgetown : Over 2100 polling stations have been identified and a staff complement of 10,000 has been recruited as the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) intensifies preparations for the 2011 national and regional elections.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon told members of the press at a post cabinet media briefing that GECOM has completed the procurement of all the Election Day paraphernalia.

President Bharrat Jagdeo earlier this week announced November 28th for Regional and National elections.

There will be observer missions from the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Organisation of American States (OAS) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) for this round of elections similar to the 2006 period when local and foreign observers and the Joint International Technical Assessors Observatories were in Guyana.
