Georgetown: The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that a total of two hundred and ninety nine animals (299) comprising nine 9 horses, one hundred and eighteen (118) cows, one hundred and five 105 goats and sixty seven 67 sheep were caught and impounded at the Police pounds in A, B, C and D Police Divisions during the month of February, 2015.
This figure represents fifty eight (58) animals less than for the previous month.
The Georgetown Unit accounted for forty three (43) cows, seventy six (76) goats and forty one (41) sheep, while the Berbice Unit accounted for nine (9) horses, seventy five (75) cows, twenty nine (29) goats and twenty six (26) sheep.
The Ministry also wishes to advise defaulting cattle owners to have in their possession a valid identification document and proof of address when seeking to redeem their impounded animals.
The continuous appeal for safety on our roads remains in effect.
