Port of Spain: 
Ian Alleyne, the popular television host of the TV6 Crime Watch programme was slapped a $30,000 fine earlier today by a Port of Spain Magistrate.
Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayres-Caesar ordered Alleyne to pay the fine or face a maximum of 72 months in prison. Alleyne had pleaded guilty earlier this month to airing a video that showed the rape of a 13-year-old physically challenged girl on three separate occasions during his programme in October of 2011. Several of Alleyne's fans garthered outside the Courthouse on St Vincent Street this morning to offer him support.
He was fined $10,000 for each of the offences and given two weeks to pay.
