Port-of-Spain: The Cabinet has approved funding for the construction of an overpass at the Curepe intersection to allow for the free flow of traffic between Port-of-Spain and St Augustine.
Works and Infrastructure Minister Jack Warner says the project will be administered by the National Infrastructure Development Company, NIDCO, at a cost of $446.6 million.
The project will involve the acquisition of some pieces of property in the area. Invitations for tenders for the project will begin in November this year and the contract will be awarded in April 2012.
The project is expected to last 18 months and will also involve the removal of traffic lights at Valpark and Bamboo Village.
