Linden : $476M has been approve by Cabinet for the rehabilitation programme of Linden water supply which will benefit over 30,000 people.
The contract for lot 1, valued $157M will see the installation of distribution and transmission mains on the western section of the mining town while lot 2 will also see the rehabilitation of distribution networks and mains but, on the eastern side of town and this contract is valued $319M.
Both projects are expected to start within another month, and when completed will see Linden customers experiencing an improved water quality as well as higher levels of service.
In addition to this, $1.7B will also be spent for the construction and rehabilitation of two water treatment plants at Amelia’s Ward and Wisroc. Works will also be done to rehabilitate existing elevated and ground storage tanks.
