Minster Persaud said that the supply, delivery and implementation of these projects are very crucial as such he warned the contractors to complete their allocated contracts in a timely manner or drastic actions will be taken against them which include the termination of services.

“We are finding that close to 45% of projects that are being implemented are behind schedule right across the sectors  and in fact we are taking steps to terminate a number of those contracts  … we would be enforcing damages but also we would be moving to terminate those contractors who are not performing in keeping with time lines because if we look at these projects they are all necessary, they are urgent .”

NDIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Lionel Wordsworth said the projects are part of D & I works and services for 2011.

He said all of the projects were advertised and have gone through the full procurement process in compliance with the national procurement act.
