Georgetown : 52 Uterine Surgeries were successfully completed at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and the West Demerara Regional Hospital between November 8th to 23rd, 2013.
A source close to the GPHC disclosed that the surgeries were done by doctors from overseas attached to the Sri Satya Sai Baba Organisation International Medical Teams.
The 52 surgeries were done free of cost after women were screened across the country and needed help.
The project was blessed and supported by the Ministry of Health.
Persons who underwent the surgeries had very enlarged Uterii due to the fibroids growth and multiple internal abdominal complications caused by previous Csection surgeries.
The International Sai Medical Team inspired by the teachings of Sri Satya Sai Baba does voluntary medical service in remote parts of the world with acute needs.
