700 million Intellegence Nerve Centre would not be used to spy on Political opponents- President Jagdeo

Georgetown-  President Bharrat Jagdeo says he wants a new approach in fighting crime, and with a multi million dollar intelligence nerve centre, this can be realised. Speaking to the security officers yesterday, the head of state made it clear that the intelligence centre is not to spy on political opponents. Political opposition members in the past have been led to believe that the state security apparatus was spying on them with the emergence of a state of the art tracking computer during the Roger Khan reign. The President gave his assurance that when the fibre optic cable are operational, all police stations with be connected via braodband to the intellegence nerve centre. While the infrastructure will be state of the art, so will the equipment and softwares used to anticipate movements of criminals.
