Eight residents of Campbellville Guyana, among them a 93 year-old doctor, are today trying to find shelter after a fire destroyed a two story building at 109 Bonsika Street last night.
The fire started at the bottom flat of the building which was occupied by four teenagers, fire officials say.
Two persons were upstairs at the time, 93 year old Dr. Frank Williams and Andaiye, a woman’s activist and International co-coordinator for Red Thread organisation.
Two fire engines from Campbellville fire station responded to the fire but according to Andaiye by the time they realized the building was on fire nothing was able to save from the house.
