Jenitta Murray Daniels says she has not given up seeking justice for her son’s death the late Assistant Superintendent Ivelaw Murray. Jenitta says that the police have closed the file but she has not given up since photos and the Pathologist’s report has not convinced her of her son’s death suicide given by the Guyana Police Force. On July 04 2010 it was reported that Murray shot another officer Kevin Sheperd and took his life using a service .32 revolver at the Springlands Police Station, Berbice. Jenitta Murray Daniels says the post mortem report states that two gunshot wounds were found with different sizes exit wounds which suggested that two different guns were used. She pointed out that after the funeral the police told her that her son left a suicide note which reads “SORRY MOM, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
” The grieved mother says that no letter was given to her but a note which was captured on a cellular phone was printed out and handed to her. She claims that the note is a mockery since it has drawings of a laughing face and when checked with a handwriting expert, the writing could not match her son’s hand writing. She says these concerns were raised with the commissioner of Police Henry Greene, Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee and Prime Minister Samuel Hinds but to date no one had responded to her. She maintains that her son and the other constable were murdered and a proper investigation must be carried out even if she has to ask for overseas help. The late Assistant Superintendent Ivelaw Murray successfully headed a drug bust two weeks before his death.
