While some Trinidadians are expressing their disappointment over the failure of LaToya Woods to make the top 15 in the Miss Universe Competition last night, they are also praising Miss Jamaica for being the first runner-up to Miss Mexico in last night’s finals in Nevada. In fact some believe Miss Jamaica, Yendi Phillipps was seriously robbed and should have been given the crown. As the news spread that Miss Mexico had won the competition, some local commentators abraided Woods once again for opting to pose topless during the competition. "I hope she learnt her lesson," one said. They also described Phillipps as a stunning beauty with brains saying she did the Caribbean proud.
