The revolver believed to have been used to fatally shoot police officer Jason Thomas, has been recovered by detectives. The gun was found in some mud near the Nestle compound yesterday. Police officer recovered the gun with the use off snifer dogs. Thomas, 37, a municipal officer from Jack Fruit Drive, Cashew Gardens, Longdenville, Chaguanas, was shot dead during an attempted carjacking by three "passengers"at the intersection of the Uriah Butler and Churchill Roosevelt Highways in Mt Hope on Monday night. Three suspects, aged 16, 18 and 20, held by members of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment and the Northern Division at the murder scene are in custody at the Pinto Road Police Post and the La Horquetta and Arouca Police Stations. They are expected to go an identification parade today.
