People living along the coastal plain of Guyana will have to be vigilant over the next seven days and take the necessary precaution since there is a predicted unusual high spring tide.
According to information from the Maritime Administration Department within the Works Services Group/Sea Defence , the spring tide is expected to be higher than usual over the next week and twice daily reaching a peak of 2.95 (m CD).
Over the past two weeks several villages across the West Bank of Demerara were under water caused by the high tide.
