Late yesterday around 11:30 pm, 54 year old businessman Erick Ramkissoon and his family who operates a grocery shop and a liquor restaurant at Main Street Corriverton, Berbice was attacked and robbed by seven armed men with guns.
According to police commander of that division Steve Marrai, Ramkissoon and his wife were in the upper flat of the building and their two sons were downstairs tending the business when the bandits held them up at gunpoint.
The young boys raised an alarm and Patricia Ramkissoon went downstairs to see what the matter was, but the gunmen held her up and assaulted her with their guns.
Erick at that time hid in a bedroom.
The bandits escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. Paticia and one of her sons Erickson were taken to the Skeldon Hospital for treatment and remained patients in a stable condition.
The Police have since launched an investigation.
