POLICE INTERCEPTS GETAWAY CAR IN ARMED ROBBERY

Two firearms, a .32 magnum and a.38 revolver with five and three rounds of matching ammunition respectively and two spent shells were, this evening recovered after police promptly intercepted a getaway car used in an armed robbery earlier today

Two male suspects, entered a business place in Triump on the East Coast at around 15:30 hrs. today, held up cashier Bhagwandai Hussein and ordered her to hand over the money which she did while the other went to another station and stole the money found there. The suspects discharged rounds in and out of the building after the woman ran out and raised an alarm. They escaped in the waiting car.

Police in a release this evening stated, that consequent of a prompt report, ranks responded and intercepted a car which fitted the description of the getaway car on the Industry crown dam road , which tried to beat a police road block and ran into a trench. The driver was promptly arrested.

Deligent enquiries further led to the arrest of another male suspect and a woman at a crown dam address .

Investigations are continuing in the matter.
