Young police officers were urged to be committed to their work – outgoing Assist. Commissioner

A farewell parade was held for female assistant commissioner Ms. Paulette Veronica Morrisson who has retired from the Guyana Police Force. Morrisson told a large gathering of young police officers to work diligently, honest, punctual and to follow the motto of the force which is to serve and protect.

Commissioner of Police Henry Green said today the force had lost the service of an officer who has given over 34 years of dedicated service.

Ms. Morrison was enlisted in the Guyana Police Force on November 1, 1976. She holds the distinction of being the first female Cadet Officer to be enlisted in the force as well as the first woman photographer.

 In addition she pursued studies at the University of Guyana and was awarded a diploma and degree in social work and a post graduate diploma in education (administration).
