Commander of Division ‘D’ West Demerara/ East Bank Essequibo, Balram Persaud on behalf of ranks in the Division presented a Mountain Climber bicycle to Elain Jones age 75 years of Lot 23 Inner Bagotsville, West Bank Demerara.
The recipient has been riding for over twenty five years from Bagotsville on the West Bank of Demerara to Regent and Alexander Streets Georgetown where she is having a small business.
She leaves her home between 11am and 12 noon, purchases one hundred pounds (100lbs) of ice at Ruimveldt, tend to her business and return home between 9pm and 10pm. She is also a farmer.
Elain, receiving the bicycle at her home, expressed thanks to the ranks in the Division and its leadership for their kind gesture and went on to say that the bicycle will greatly assist her.
