Today two men armed with handguns robbed S.P Worldwide Import and Export Co. at Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara, of US$5,000.00 $150, 000.00 GC and a cellular phone.
According to reports the owner of the business, Dr. Deodat Puran and an employee were packing cloth into a vehicle for delivery when the suspects disembarked a Toyota Carina AT 212 motor car, stuck them up and ordered them into a building where they bound and robbed the owner of the entity. They demanded more money whilst discharging a round at the doctor which grazed the right side of his head. They then fled.
The victim was treated for injuries and sent away. The Police have since launched an investigation and up to the time of this report no one has been arrested in relation to the robbery.
