State Procecutor call for a change of Magistrate in the CN Sharma case

The Preliminary inquire in the obstruction of justice case against popular TV host Chandra Narine Sharma has taken another twist today before Magistrate Geeta Chandan Edmond.

Special state Prosecutor Sanjeev  Datadin made an application to Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond for the case to be transferred to another Magistrate since the defense lawyer Nigel Hughes is also the Magistrate’s attorney.    Datadin arguments were based on bias.  Hughes in respond said he has no objection and either Sharma or Edmond can hire another attorney or have the case transfer.
The matter is set for Tuesday July 20 for ruling.

Sharma was charged on April 19th for carnal knowledge and five of his associates were charged separately for perverting the course of justice.
Nigel Hughes, Vic Puran and Mark Waldron are the defense lawyers.
