“Zero tolerance for corruption in my administration” Murray tells Essequibo residents

Murray recently emphasized that accountability and transparency will be hallmarks of his Administration. He was speaking to residents and the business community of Essequibo. Murray affirmed, among other things, that shared governance was an important tool in the efforts to resolve the country’s problems and moving it forward. Murray explained that there would be zero tolerance for corruption. Ministers will be asked to sign on to a Code of Conduct and any breach of the Code will result in instant dismissal. He was also asked about the Presidential candidate and the leader of the Party being two different people. His answer was that the focus at the moment is on the Presidential candidate and that of the leader of the Party can be resolved at a later time.

The business community expressed frustration with the manner in which the country is being governed. They are of the opinion that the economy is being mismanaged and that rice farmers are not getting a fair deal for their produce.
