They claimed that the poor works done by a private contractor who was hired to repair a dam next to the Koker in their village did not do a good job.
The dam was left lower than before and this is not adequate to hold back water from the Demerara River from overflowing when the spring tide is on.
This morning high tide water flowed over the dam and flood the immediate areas.
Some residents said the water damage some of their household items including refrigerators, stoves and sofa set while others lost live stocks and their kitchen gardens.
