A sickly business woman Irene Gooding the owner of the popular Hollywood club in Lamaha Street Kitty burst out in tears and panted for breath when she found out her childhood friend robbed her in excess of a million dollars.
Irene says about six months ago her longtime friend Mohan Sahibdeen the proprietor of Adrian Taxi Service pleaded to her to borrow 1.3 million dollars to bail out from a business transaction and promised to repay her in one month’s time.
The business woman says after the time has elapsed she made contact with Sahibdeen and he promised to pay her. When she finally received her money by way of three cheques totaling nine hundred and sixty one thousand dollars, the cheques were denied by the Bank.
The Bank officials informed Mrs. Gooding that the signatory of the cheques has no money in their bank.
The matter was reported to the criminal Investigation Department at the Brickdam Police Station but the police for weeks did not take any action.
Mrs. Gooding says she will be hiring a lawyer to deal with this matter.
Mohan Sahibdeen of 41 C’ Blygezight Gardens was charged and placed before the courts on April 26, 2010 for obtaining 18,000 USD in November 26, 2007 to get a US visa for one Suresh Singh and charged for defrauding one Zaheer Shaw of 700,000 GD collecting money under false pretence to obtain a US visa for Shaw.
He was placed on 400,000 dollars bail.
Several other persons are now coming forward to speak out about this conman who they claimed has very good ties with some law enforcement officers.
