An unidentified man of African descent was fished out from a canal on Vlissengen road just before noon today.
A small crowd gathered as curious persons wanted to get a glimpse of the man who was clad in a cream shirt and long pants.
The man who appears to be in his early fifties was found with his head down in the water. When he was removed by workers from a city morgue, the state of the Body seems as though rigor-mortis has stepped in ( limbs of the corps becomes stiff) by the way his hands were.
Money was noticed in one of his hands and his wrist watch was in tacked which suggested that robbery was not a motive.
The Police are yet to issue a statement of the cause of death and to identify the man.
