Over the weekend workers contracted by the Ministry of Public Works were seen cutting the grass of parapets and removing garbage from sections of the city in the wake of the arrival of the Kawaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al- Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who will be in Guyana on Monday July 19 2010.
The purpose of the Visit is to share bilateral relations between the two nations and the double taxation agreement.
The Guyana Kuwait double taxation agreement is to provide a proper environment for investors and 10 million US dollars for infrastructure works to boost the housing sector with twelve thousand new house lots.
Only a few days ago the Public works Minister Kellawan Lall lashed out at Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green about his management tactics to keep the capital city clean.
The upset minister even said that he wished if a health crises breaks out in Georgetown so that the Mayor and city council could be fired.
Mayor Green at a press conference last Tuesday said that the Government owed the city millions of dollars and this prevents the council from getting their work done.
