Fire fighters from West Ruimveldt Fire station in Georgetown rushed to the West Coast Of Demerara to respond to a call from residents of Canal Number two Polder in the wee hours of the morning.
Around 2 AM today the home of 62 year old Bibi Saqrhami went up in flames and by the time members of the Guyana Fire service reached, the woman had die in the blaze.
Saqrhami was the only person in the house at the time of the fire.
The origin of the fire is still unknown.
