Kitty, Georgetown- A 12 year old school girl was rushed to the hospital after being struck by the driver of this car seen in the picture. The seemingly young driver skidded off the road after he hit the pupil and ended up on the sidewalk on Garnette street, one of the busiest access roads in the Kitty area. Luckily her injuries were not severe, but it appears her knee may have suffered a fracture as it started to swell. The driver explained that his brakes failed and he lost control of the car. But other pedestrians recounted that he was speeding in the midday rush when a lot of school children are on the road. For years there have been calls for sleeping policemen to be placed along the road, since a school is located just a few yards away from where the accident occurred.
