AFC met with GECOM on pressing issues affecting the party.

Georgetown : The Alliance For Change briefing members of the media this afternoon said, the party met yesterday with Dr. Steve Surujbally, Chairman and members of the GECOM. However the party regrets to report that they left the meeting not knowing whether the several issues written to GECOM were favourably considered.

Particular concern to was the revelation that due to resource limitations, the AFC was likely to continue to be denied its democratic right to be treated as an independent parliamentary party entitled to all the material provided to the PPP/C and the PNC/R such as a hard copy of the Preliminary List of Electorates (PLE).

The party also claims that the electronic copy of the PLE given by GECOM was in a format not conducive to making quick checks of persons' names.

The AFC also raised the question of the negligence of GECOM to activate its referee constitutional mandate to ensure an electoral environment of fairness pertaining to the abuse and misuse of the state's resources by the incumbent.
