Ag National Security Minister says crime not as bad as perceived

Port-of-Spain: Acting National Security Minister Herbert Volney is insisting that there is no increase in homicides despite the year having started with five murders in as many days.

Minister Volney insisted that the murders the country has been witnessing since the end of the State of Emergency differ greatly from the type of murders to which the country had become accustomed.

He says most of the recent crime have been crimes of passion and even mistaken identities as opposed to gang related murders.
