Georgetown: As Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) concludes, one of the many interesting booths was the “Agroin” booth that also featured PAS Cargo Guyana Inc. that underscored the benefits and advantages of growing crops from seed in addition to the export potential.
The 2013 CWA was held under the theme “Linking the Caribbean for Regional Food and Nutrition Security and Rural development”. Guyana from October 5 to 12 hosted the 12th edition of the region’s premier agriculture event, at the Guyana International Conference Centre.
Director at PAS Cargo Guyana Inc and Owner of AGROIN, Oumdeo Ramdeo said the facets of agriculture varies and services offered at the booth highlights production of healthy crops, and options to export quality products to international markets.
“We offer products for any crop that farmers can think of, we have specialist fertilizers, crop protections that include pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. Not only are these for rice, fruits, vegetables, but we have for lawns, grass and many more aspects of agriculture.” Ramdeo emphasized.
Adding that the organisation also offers public health specialization in the form of pesticides, Ramdeo said products include; Demand CS, prelude, Klerat, Cooper Pegler amongst others.
He said insecticides include: Actara, Actellic, Karatezeon, Vertimec, Ninja, Trigard 75 WP, Match and Pegasus. Fungicides include: Amistar and Brave while herbicides include: Gramaxone, Fusilade, Karmex 80 DF, Gramocil, Igran and touchdown 10.
Alluding to PAS Cargo operations, Ramdeo said this company is ideally positioned to provide the logistics to get fresh produce to the export market. The organisation is also preparing to produce its own fruits and vegetables for export.
