Acting President Samuel Hinds this morning led from the front as hundreds braved the weather and turned out for the interfaith rally and march in observance of Harmony week.
Members of the public, the diplomatic corp. and religious leaders marched from the cenotaph in main street to the Promenade gardens where a short cultural presentation showcasing the different faiths.
Prime Minister Hinds reminded the gathering of this year’s theme “to love our neighbours”.
He made mention of the rate of killings in Guyana especially with the increased road fatalities, comparing, said he understands Guyana is 50 times what it is in the USA.
He said Guyanese needs to change their attitude with how they use the roadways.
The Prime Minister urged for all the faiths in Guyana grow in harmony.
