Essequibo: Leslie Thornhill of Martindale Lower Pomeroon River is the winner of the new model Raum car which was up for grabs in the A&S Sweepstakes Promotion.
After weeks of creative preparation and more weeks of promotion, the A&S Sweepstakes Promotion came to an end with the final drawing being held yesterday. The Sweepstakes Promotion commenced on March 3rd of this year and was spearheaded by business tycoon Alfro Alphonso who is the proprietor of several businesses in Charity,Essequibo Coast.
A spokesperson for the Alfro Alphonso & Son's Enterprises said that the sales promotion was done to attract consumers offering them a chance to win valuable prizes.
Mr. Alphonso was the only businessman along the Coast who had such a promotion with the first prize being a new car.
“The Alfro Alphonso & Son's Enterprises wants to give back to the person's living along the Essequibo Coast and Upper and Lower Pomeroon River and we thank them for their support throughout this year and we are sure that persons will continue to support us in 2016,” the spokesperson noted.
To enter the competition, customers had to shop $5000 and over at any of the Alfro Aphonoso & Sons Enterprises entity and they were given a coupon.
The entities were RCA TV Channel 8, A&S Complex, Gaulin Supermarket, Xenon Hotel, Cassia Ice House, A&S General Store, Stall 13 Charity, Xenon Service Station, Pomeroon Oil Mill, A&S Fast Food Service and A&S Bar.
The competition was only eligible for persons living in Region Two.
The drawing was held in front of the A&S Complex Charity and saw a tremendous turn out by anxious patrons who were all hoping to win one of the prizes.
The fourth prize winner Lalita Bissessar walked away with a Samsung 12kg Washing Machine while the third prize winner Mignon Alphonso toke home a Lester Engine. The second prize of a 15HP Yamaha Outboard Engine was won by Winston Gouvia. Joy and excitement were evident on the face of the
1st prize Leslie Thornhill. Thornhill thanked the Alfro Alphonso and Sons Enterprises for the taking the promotion to the Essequibo Coast and said that he was a loyal customer.
“I thank God that I was able to work to throw my coupon and I could win this car. Even though I live in the (Pomeroon)River I am happy that I win the car.”
Mr. Alfro Alphonso announced to the crowd that the company will start another promotion in mid January and will conclude in May of next year to commemorate the country's 50th Independence Anniversary.
