An American national was fined $1000 when appeared in the Bridgetown Magistrate's Court on five drug related charges this afternoon.Meantime, an American national is expected to appear in court to answer five drug related charges.
Jonny Lee was arrested and charged after he was held in connection with a package that arrived in Barbados by courier service yesterday.
The package was examined by customs and 20 grams of cannabis discovered.
Police were called in and Lee, who was staying at the Crane Hotel in St. Phillip was arrested. They executed a warrant and a small quantity of cannabis was found.
A warrant was later executed at where he was staying and a small quantity of the drugs found.
Lee was found guilty of two counts of possession, possession with intent, trafficking and importation. The fine was paid.
