Prime Minister Bruce Golding who had announced his November departure may be exiting sooner than that.
During the launch of the Compete Caribbean Program at the Wyndham Kingston Hotel he said “The person who is expected to succeed me in a matter of days has provided strong leadership”.
Holness, who is 39 years old, is the only nominee for the leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). He has been the Education Minister since 2007 and was selected by the majority of the JLP Parliamentarians. His leadership confirmation will take place at the next JLP annual conference on November 20th
