Georgetown: Road users continue to suffer the dangers of strays roaming the streets, particularly along the rural areas. Questions arise about the stray catchers that were commissioned early this year. The Police claimed that they were going to effectively deal with strays and persecute owners, however since the trucks were introduced no one to date were penalised nor were any strays impounded. Trakkernews understands like every other offence, certain officers are paid off to forego persecution. Meanwhile the strays continue to pose serious traffic hazards on the country's roadway. Just yesterday police constable Micheal Anthony died after he swerved from a cow in Berbice and lost control smashing into a bridge.
