Berbice- Less than 72 hours 3 families have been beaten and robbed in Black Bush Polder Corentyne as the area remains undersieged by armed criminal gangs. Just before midnight yesterday Indrawattie Dhanraj and her 11 years old son were attacked and beaten. The 3 armed criminals scaled the fence and gained entry from a window above a shed by removing the panes. While being held at gunpoint one of the criminals told the woman something that suggested they are from the area and known to her. They made off with cash and jewellery leaving the mother and son traumatised and fearful. A patrol was summoned after the shaken woman under the cover of darkness was on her way to the Mibicuri Police station just a street away from the crime scene. (Photos big smith)
