Georgetown: Between 10 to 15 Guyanese are nabbed yearly trying to smuggle cocaine out of Guyana either by sea or air. Just before 4pm yesterday a woman was taken into custody after Customs Anti Narcotics ranks observed her movements particularly after a check of her luggage unearthed a large quantity of footwear. Following a check almost 2 kilos of cocaine was found concealed in the shoes. She was bound for a BW flight to Jamaica. Only a few days ago Jamaican authorities busted five persons on board a large vessel from Guyana.
