Bartica : Motor lorry GMM 9254 which was being driven by Leon D’Abreu of Third Avenue, Bartica, and transporting fuel and goods with eight passengers in the tray, began rolling back down a hill which the driver was ascending at the time along the Barama Road in the Itaballi Area.
The driver lost control of the vehicle which toppled and resulted in the death of Loretta Lewis, 20 years of Scotsburg, Corentyne, and Dorette Donald, 33 years of No. 78 Village, Corentyne.
The driver and the other passengers received injuries and are receiving medical attention at the Bartica Hospital.
