APNU political party to unveil plans of national harmony at official launch today.

Georgetown: The APNU will be officially launched this evening at the Convention Centre of the Ocean View International Hotel, Liliendaal, Georgetown. The programme would be preceded by a video presentation and cultural items commencing from 5:30 PM.
The APNU said it intends to use this occasion to unveil its plans to bring an end to the divisions that have plagued our country for the last half of a century and open the way to a new era of national harmony.
On Friday 24th June, the Joint Opposition Political Parties (JOPP), had announced the formation of, “A PARTNERSHIP FOR NATIONAL UNITY, (APNU)”, to contest the 2011 General and Regional Elections. It was explained then, that the APNU is not a political party, but an association of political parties.

On that occasion the Parties made public the joint DECLARATION in which they formally asserted their commitment to establish a Government of National Unity, headed by Mr. David Arthur Granger. The Declaration sets out clearly the objectives of the Partnership as well as the guiding principles. The Statement of Principles and the specimen Membership Forms of APNU were also made available to the public. Many organisations and individuals have since signalled their interest in being a part of this historic development and the launching ceremony on Friday 15th July will usher in the opportunity for according formal membership to these organisations and individuals.
