Georgetown : A Partnership For National Unity (APNU) wrote the chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Steve Surjbally saying the party now had an opportunity to conduct a verification exercise based on a comparison between the statement of polls (SOP) provided by GECOM and those by APNU polling agents.
APNU said it is impossible to reconcile the two sets of SOPs since in a significant number of instances the SOPs are not identical. APNU is now renewing the request for the original hard copies of the SOPs in GECOM possession.
APNU understands that GECOM expressed a willingness to provide a space at their premises to enable the party to carry out a further verification with the hard copies and awaits a word from GECOM when they can have the facility available.
