The Barbados Christian Council is calling for an apology from parliamentarians involved in last Tuesday fracas in the House of Assembly.
Chairman of Barbados Christian Council, Monsignor Blackett issued the call as he condemned the incident in obscene langauge was used.
"I am indeed saddened by the behaviour of some parliamentarians that went out on the air last Tuesday, the language used was inexcusable . All MPs involved should come out and say they regret what happens", Blackett said.
"The Christian community condemned very strongly such behaviour and calls on our parliamentarians to set a higher standard. I am sure many people will take their behaviour into consideration when to go to the poll", he added.
Last Tuesday during a heated debate in the House of Assembly, Opposition member Dr William Duguid used an expletive which was heard on the radio.
When asked yesterday if he was going to publicy apologize Duguid state:"We are sorting it out".
The Opposition Barbados Labour Party has scheduled a press conference to discuss the matter today.
