Application process in the public service too slow

Bridgetown.

Minister of Health Donville Inniss says the public service must improve the length of time it takes to process applications.

Speaking at the official opening of the Wound Management Centre at Coverley, Christ Church, the Minister said, the complains of the amount of time that the public service take to processs applications have been going  on for a too long.

"For decades,  there have complains about the length of  it takes to process applications for various matters before Government Departments. Far too often I have heard and felt the frustration of entrepreneurs who are awaiting decisions in respect of waiver of taxes, approval for building works, delays on immigration matter, decisions from the courts and  various ministries including the Ministry of Health", Inniss said.

He reminded public servants charged with the responsibility for processing these applications that the delays can reoult in lost opportunities for the society and economy.
