Berbice : A man is in police custody today and a motor vehicle detained after an armed robbery occured last night at Berbice.
Businesman Presley Drepaul of Corentyne, Berbice was attacked by four armed men in his bedroom.
They then took away a quantity of jewellery and two cell phones valued at a total of $4.8M during which Presley Drepaul resisted and was shot to the right shoulder by one of the perpetrators, after which they escaped.
Presley Drepaul was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he has been admitted in a stable condition.
