Berbice : Business woman Rajpattie Ramnarace of Nigg settlement, Corentyne, Berbice, was robbed by two armed gunmen of $1.2 million last night.
The 58 year old Rajpattie Ramarace was in the company of her husband Hemchand Gopaul and three workers and had just arrived home in their vehicle when they were confronted by the perpetrators who held them at gunpoint. The armed men then took away a hand bag containing the cash from Rajpattie and escaped.
No one knew how the men made good their escape, if by car or foot. The police have since launched an investigation.
