West Demerara : At about 5:45 a.m today, two men, one of who whom was armed with a handgun, entered the home of Wazim Khan, 54 years, of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, through an open door and held him at gunpoint.
They took away a video camera and a cell phone and escaped.
Later, at abut 9:15 a.m today, four men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, held up Rasheed Ramesh of Hague Backdam at Hague and took away his bicycle.
Rasheed Ramesh raised an alarm and residents came out in response. The police was informed and also quickly responded and with the assistance of the residents caught three of the men.
An unlicensed .38 revolver with two rounds and the stolen bicycle were recovered.
Efforts are continuing to locate the other perpetrator.
The three men, one of whom has been identified as being involved in the armed robbery at Anna Catherina, are in police custody.
