Georgetown : Lieutenant Martin Douglas who was pursuing a military course in Missouri, USA, was arraigned on Thursday, August 4, 2011 before a judge on alleged sodomy and child molestation charges.
He has been placed on US $50,000 bail and is being held at the St Louis County Jail.
The Government of Guyana, through its Embassy in Washington, DC, has already dispatched staff to visit the Officer in order to assess his case with a view to providing legal assistance.
The Lieutenant’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 11.
