Arsonists attack Essequibo Police Station, abandoned Govt. building

Georgetown: A Fire at Maria’s Lodge Essequibo coast in the wee hours of Tuesday morning completely destroyed an abandoned Government building which was once used by the army.

Reportedly, someone gained entry to the building and used what appeared to be kerosene to set the fire.

Meanwhile, Essequibo firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a fire that was deliberately set to the Criminal investigations Department building of the Anna Regina Police Station Tuesday morning. The fire though caused massive internal damages.

The arsonist removed a louver window which was close to the access road, climed on a fence and used what appeared to be kerosene to set the fire.
