Georgetown: The Sophia Exhibition Site has come to life as GuyExpo 2013 is now in full swing with it’s over 400 exhibitors vying for maximum attention.
As Guyana’s premier trade fair and investment show gets underway, the Planning Committee continues to ensure that exhibitors’ and participant’s expectations are met, in keeping with high standards synonymous with the event.
According to the Director of Tourism and the GuyExpo Public Relations/ Marketing Manager, Mr. Indranauth Haralsingh, the improvements made to this year’s show have been designed to cater to the needs of all who come to the event, with new additions ranging from an expanded International Pavilion, additional pedestrian entrances, easier access for the differently -abled and the pre selling of tickets.
Alluding to one of the additional highlights of expo, he announced that the Tourism Village this year is expected to attract and entice even more visitors with a myriad of showpieces and exciting giveaways from the many exhibitors there.
With displays from Evergreen Tours, Roraima Tours, Fly Brazil and THAG among others, and amazing giveaways from Caribbean Airlines and Fly Jamaica , visitors will sure to be captivated when visiting the Tourism Village .
The Tourism Village is located between the GTA Building and the Guyana National Bureau of Standards.
In expounding on other new features, Haralsingh pointed to the electrifying new ‘I Believe’ campaign which was launched on the opening night and the grand ‘I Believe’ concert staged on Friday night; the aim of the campaign is to encourage all Guyanese to embrace patriotism, democracy and the transformative projects underway to propel Guyana into the future.
Spectators can also look forward to wholesome entertainment, thorough steel pan music, fashion displays, talent showcases, kid’s entertainment comedy and a delectable spread of Creole and international cuisine at the food courts.
GuyExpo 2013 will also be used as a platform for the promotion of this year’s theme, ‘Advancing Productivity through Innovation, Modernisation and Expansion’ and to also highlight the strides made in the manufacturing sector over the last 50 years.
The Exposition and Trade fair opened on October 3rd and will close on October 6th with much funfair and celebration.
