Attorney General express concerns over work permit applicants in the hotel industry

Bridgetown.

Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite says that some hotel in Barbados are advertising jobs and following up the advertisements with requests for work permits for overseas applicants

Speaking in the House of Assembly yesterday during the debate on Human Resource Development Srategy  yesterday, Brathwaite said.

"One of the things that has disappointed me over the years is that I still keep on seeing many jobs advertised in this country and many work permits following there afterwards. This suggests to me that our srategy is not working or Barbadians are being deprived of opportunity to excel in certain areas, and we need ensure that this is not a ploy to keep Barbadians out of these jobs", Brathwaite.
